Statement on Ethics & Publication Malpractice Statement
The Ibn Sina Sirte Medical Journal follows the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. Any unethical behavior is unacceptable, and the journal does not tolerate plagiarism in any form.

Duties of Editor/Copy Editor

  • Publication Decisions: Full responsibility to accept, reject, or request modifications based on peer review.
  • Review of Manuscripts: Ensure initial evaluation for originality using appropriate software.
  • Fair Review: Review intellectual content without regard to race, gender, or religion.
  • Confidentiality: Keep information regarding manuscripts confidential.
  • Disclosure: Not use unpublished materials for personal research without consent.
  • Accountability: Attend annual meetings to advise on journal policy.

Duties of Authors

  • Original Work: Ensure entirely original work not published elsewhere.
  • Multiple Submissions: Not submit to multiple journals simultaneously.
  • Peer Review: Participate and cooperate in the review process.
  • Data Authenticity: Identify all sources and acknowledge limitations.
  • Fundamental Errors: Provide retractions or corrections if significant errors are found.
  • Human Subjects: Cite IRB approval when appropriate.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Treat information as privileged and confidential.
  • Objectivity: Conduct reviews objectively without personal criticism.
  • Acknowledgment: Ensure authors have acknowledged all sources.
  • Plagiarism: Alert the editor if a manuscript is suspected of being a copy.
  • Promptness: Inform the editor if unable to meet the deadline.

Duties of Advisory Board Members

  • Consists of prominent scholars acting as ambassadors for the journal.
  • Attend annual meetings to advise on policy and scope.
  • Suggest new ideas and initiatives for the journal.
